Marcee's 40th B Day
A very happy 40th b day to Marcee! We celebrated in a few ways this week. On Wednesday (Marcee's actual b day), we went to Murray's Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge (a Minneapolis institution) for an old school steak dinner with Jon & Judy. On Friday, we had family dinner with the kids at J & J's house. And then on Saturday, we headed to Taylors Falls, MN where we ate at a retro 50's diner called the Drive-In for burgers, fries and Root Beer Floats and a round of mini golf. We then headed over to Wild Mountain for some bumper car and alpine slide action. Tomorrow I've got a bit of a surprise planned for just Marcee (shhh!). I will be watching the kids solo while she goes out to have some fun without me. Below are some pics from our special day in Taylors Falls. A very happy b day to Momma Marcee, the best partner in crime and wife a guy could ever ask for!
Rosie's New Big Kid Shoes w/Laces
This week Rosie had a "big" decision to make....which new shoes should she keep. The sparkly red Vans with the big kid "tie" laces? Or the old school pink and purple Puma's? Momma Marcee was out w/some friends so Rosie and I were left to our own devices to make this all important decision. See the below artifacts for how Rosie went from "torn" to coming down clearly on the side of the Vans. She also learned how to tie her new big kid shoes as well.

"Dear Momma- (FYI Daddy)
I was having a hard time deciding which shoes to keep, because they are both really cool. So daddy suggested that we make a spreadsheet to help me decide. He said that you both use spreadsheets at work to help make decisions. So, we discussed all of the factors that were important to me in choosing my shoes. And then we awarded points to each shoe based on how they measured up against the factors. If it was a tie between the shoes on any given factor, we awarded each shoe 1 point. Based on our analysis, I have decided to keep the sparkly red Vans. Please see our analysis attached and let us know if you have any questions.
All the best,
Rosalie"

Dear Momma- (FYI Daddy)
In addition to our shoe selection spreadsheet, Daddy and I also watched several youtube videos on how to tie my new shoes. I now know how to knot, and double knot my shoes. I'm still however working on how to untie my shoes when double knotted. Daddy tells me that it's ok as Rome wasn't built in a day. I think you should go out w/your mommy friends more regularly as daddy and I have had a very fun and productive evening.
All the best,
-Rosalie
