When Rosie Met Mira

Rosie and I went to meet Bear and Willow's daugther Mira earlier this week. Cuteness ensued.

The Uncles Come to Town

Our parade of summer houseguests is quickly coming to a close, but not without a very special visit from Uncles Matthew and Peter. It was a brief, but jam-packed, weekend of fun and Rosalie adoration. Rosie misses them so much, she has taken up a texting relationship with Matthew......Next up, Jon's birthday weekend with Uncle Ned and Gammy Peggy.

Two Month Stats

Rosie had her two month check-up at the pediatrician last week. She is now 21" long, 9 lbs 3 oz and her head circumference is 14 1/2"---all in the 10th percentile. The doctor said she is growing fast and is perfect (we already knew that!). Rosie was very brave when she got her 5 vaccinations. Mom and Aunt Amy not so much. We all made it through with minimal tears.

Mommy Genes

The consensus among the general public seems to be that Rosalie bears a strong resemblance to Jon. My favorite expression of this sentiment was an email from my friend Willow who wrote, "She looks so much like Jon, I want to stick a bow tie on her!"

It's not that I have a problem with our daughter looking like Jon. And, I don't think anyone is questing my genetic ties to Rosie. But, when my mom e-mailed me thse two pictures, I couldn't help but get excited about seeing a little bit of me in her. I particularly like how the second photo of me is very similar to one of the Tummy Time posts.
