Belated 10th Wedding Anniversary Post

Using the Labor Day holiday to get caught up on my summer blogging...

Here's my Facebook post from 08-04-17

"Flashback to 08-04-07. Marcee and I have now been married for a quarter of our lives.

To the best doubles partner in life a guy could ever hope for, "today I love you completely as I did yesterday and as I will tomorrow...may we always remember these words and keep them in our hearts as a symbol of our eternal commitment to each other. This is my promise to you."

As I reflect on our wedding vows pictured here 10 years later, these words ring true even more powerfully. Thxs for everything M and and here's to the next 10.

And to our parents, siblings and closest friends who have provided so much love and support to our marriage these past 10 years, a very big thank you to you as well."

First Trip to Valley Fair Amusement Park

When Amy and Marcee were kids, each summer was marked by an annual trip to the Valley Fair amusement park. With Amy in town for the Labor Day holiday, we decided to take Rosie, Sam, and Maxine for their first visit. A good time was had by all (save me who got dreadfully sick to my tummy after taking Sam on the tilt-a-whirl) and here are a few pics we took to mark the occasion. Maybe next year Maxine will be big enough to actually ride one of the rides:)

YMCA Camp Du Nord

In addition to our great trip in July to celebrate Gammy Peggy's 70th b day, we also took a week in August to go to the YMCA's family camp called Camp du Nord up in Ely, MN which is at the foot of the boundary waters. We've been wanting to go to a family camp with the kids for a few years now and Camp du Nord did not dissapoint. From making new friends at meals in the dining hall, to age group time (where the kids including Maxine were off w counselor so that Marcee and I could do our own adventures), to our cozy cabin McKenzie (w no indoor bathroom!), to boating on the lake to saunas, campfires and smores at night, it was the perfect way to cap off our summer. We hope to have the chance to return to Camp du Nord for many years to come. Here are just a few pics to give a flavor of our time there.

Gammy Peggy's 70th Birthday Trip to Triangle X Ranch

At long last, I finally got around to making the photo book from Gammy Peggy's 70th Birthday Trip to Triangle X Ranch.  It was a fabulous trip to a really special place.  And we're so lucky that we were all able to be together.  Thanks again Gammy P! xoxo, -J, M, R, S, M
