At 3pm on Wednesday, I got a call from Sam's school that he had hurt his finger. His teacher was concerned about it, so I made an appointment at the pediatrician and picked him up early. One Dr's appt, 1 Pediatric urgent care center, 1 ER, 2 Ubers, 1 taxi and 6 hours later, we learned that he had not broken or fractured any bones, but rather just jammed the finger very badly.
Lucky for me, Sam was incredibly excited about applying his knowledge from the
Happyville hospital to the real world experience. He was upbeat and curious right up until the moment he fell asleep on my lap! The x-ray technician at the ER said she's never had a happier patient than Sam.
The Dr advised that the finger should heal on its own over the next couple weeks.
